Editorial standards
These are the rules our titles are held to. They are short on purpose, because rules nobody can remember are not rules.
Accuracy before speed
A date, a time or an address is checked against the organiser’s own page before it is printed. Where we could not verify something, we say so rather than guessing.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we correct it, in the next edition and on the page itself. A correction says what was wrong, not merely that something changed.
Advertising is always labelled
Paid placements are marked. Editorial coverage is never for sale, and no advertiser is shown a story before publication.
Sources
We link to the organiser or the venue, not to a ticket reseller or a listings aggregator, whenever such a page exists. Where we report on a story first published elsewhere, we say where it came from.
Artificial intelligence
We use software to gather listings, remove duplicates and check dates at a scale no person could manage by hand, and to draft summaries from verified facts. Every edition is reviewed by an editor before it is sent, and no article is published because a machine thought it should be. Where a page was assembled largely by software, it says so.
Privacy and readers
We do not sell reader data. Subscribing requires an email address and nothing else, and unsubscribing takes one click. See our privacy policy.
